United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is represented in more than 90 countries through its Foreign Agricultural Service agency (FAS). The agency’s mission is to develop, maintain and expand access for U.S. products in world markets. In Brazil, the USDA has 3 offices: headquartered at the U.S. Embassy in Brasília are the Office of Agricultural Affairs (OAA) and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS); at the U.S. Consulate General in São Paulo are the Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). APHIS also has an office in Rio de Janeiro. FAS offices in Brazil offer a number of free services and products to U.S. exporters and Brazilian importers, with the aim of establishing stronger commercial relations between the two countries.
