American Products Portfolio (APP)

A new consumption pattern has been established since the mid-90's. Brazilian consumers not only became aware of a wide range of imported products and famous brands, but also started to trade-up, which brought more sophistication into their purchases. Today's market for imported food and beverage products in Brazil is largely driven by high-end consumers.

Although imports of foreign goods, from time to time, benefit from a favorable exchange rate, the debate is not only centered in value terms. Food invokes and represents different needs, social assurance, luxury. In its different aspects, every culture has a way of thinking food.

Taking this as an opportunity, the US Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) designed the American Products Portfolio (APP). The project was initially launched in 2005 to facilitate the establishment of commercial contacts between U.S. exporters of high-value products and Brazilian importers. All US exporters and Brazilian importers of food and beverage products are eligible to participate in this project free of charge.

Through this project, ATO Sao Paulo assists Brazilian buyers in identifying new products from the U.S. to be tested in the local market. The ATO also helps companies to introduce these products to the Brazilian market by giving support to importers and exporters throughout the import process. Brazil represents a great potential for U.S. exporters. If you want to register your company, please, contact ATO São Paulo:
